Rare Dropkick Murphys B Side off of "Going Out In Style"

Alright viewers,

Time for an update! I just came across this sweet rare DKM b-side from "Going Out In Style" released last March and its called "Walk Don't Run".  I do wish they put it on the record itself, because it could have used one or two more more straight foward, and fast punk rock/Oi! sounding kind of songs but the album itself is pretty much a class act.  Anyways, here is a posting of "Walk Don't Run."  Enjoy!

More updates and other things in punk rock soon to come!

Street Dogs and Dropkick Murphys are confirmed to tour together!

Alright Friends,

It was confirmed last Wednesday at Warped Tour in Mansfield, MA.  that the Dropkick Murphys and Street Dogs are finally touring together.  The tour that I assume is being put on by the Murphys is entitled the "Shamrock N' Roll Tour" will start with two nights at Fenway Park in Boston, September 8th and 9th and will continue the next day in Bangor, ME.   Even though the Mighty Mighty Bosstones will drop off the tour at the end of the Fenway Shows, the Parkington Sisters and Chuck Ragen (Hot Water Music) will be jumping on the bill.

Personally, seeing the Dropkicks and the Street Dogs on the same bill is a huge thing for fans of both bands alike.  For those who don't know, Mike McColgan who is the former singer of DKM, is now the singer of the Street Dogs.  Mike left the Dropkicks in 1998 to become a Boston Firefighter.  He left that profession to persue the Street Dogs full time.  I beleive that fans of both bands have been waiting to see this for a very long time and will see two bands who are staples in the Boston punk rock scene, share the same stage.

(At 3:45 you find Mike McColgan coming out and singing Barroom Hero with the Dropkick Murphys.  This is the  first song that he wrote with the band when he was vocalist.  Enjoy!)

Anyways, for the sake of posting, here are the tour dates for the "Shamrock N Roll Tour":
September 20118, 9 - Boston, MA -Fenway Park

Dropkick Murphys/MMB at Fenway sold out in seconds.

Like most people, my mother nor myself could get our hands on Dropkick Murphys or Bosstones tickets for the two Fenway Park shows on September 8th and September 9th.  Apparently, they sold out in seconds and probably got eaten up by scalpers.  On that note, it makes me pissed off because those scalping assholes are making a fortune off of tickets that cost $30.00.  Another factor that results in my hatred towards scalpers in this case is that half of the proceeds, if you bought online, go to the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund.  Now these scumbags who sometimes I feel control Lansdowne Street and seeing a show at a reasonable price are making double the cash.

On a brighter note, a wise person recently said, "When it comes to live music, if theres a will, theres a way..." and I agree completely.  Being the resourceful person I am, I will find a way in and I encourage anybody else to do the same.  Get to know people, find extra tickets some people may have or just find a way to get in.  Its not that hard, trust me.  Anyways, get amped for two awesome shows.  Wednesday next week, I plan to give a Part II of this post and give some good news that I am not going to drop yet.  Enjoy!

So theres this guy named Dave Hause.

So there is this amazing singer song writer named Dave Hause.  He plays in a punk rock band from Philly called the Loved Ones and has recently put out his own album called  "Resolutions" which has its own blend of folk punk, rock and some other elements.  Anyways, I saw Dave open for the Bouncing Souls with the World Inferno/Friendship Society and I was really impressed.  Most of his setlist were pretty well known Loved Ones tunes such as "Pretty Good Year", "Jane", and "Living (Will Get You Dead)" and a great cover which I had discovered afterwards by Hot Water Music, called "Trusty Chords."  What I like about him is that even though he was playing by himself on a stage, he played like he had a band backing him up.  The energy displayed with his acoustic guitar and working with the crowd who knew the words to all of his songs was awesome and got you pumped for a great show.  Dave also made some apperances during the two Bouncing Souls sets that night for, "True Beleivers", "Simple Man", and a few others.

To sum it up, go buy his album "Resolutions", plus "Keep Your Heart", "Build And Burn" and "Distractions EP" by the Loved Ones.  They will blow your mind.  Highlights off "Resolutions" include "C'mon Kid", "Pray For Tuscon", "Rankers and Rotters" and "Meet me at the Lanes".  If you are a fan of the Loved Ones, Bouncing Souls, the Gaslight Anthem, and even Bruce Springsteen, then this is an album worthwhile checking out!

Heres a few videos below about Dave Hause and his new project as well as covering "Trusty Chords" with the Bouncing Souls and Hot Water Music!
