The Occupy Protests

I do not have a problem with protesting as its within our rights as American people to do.  I don't consider myself an "anarchist" or even a hippy by any means.  Im just your regular, everyday, hardworking American who is quite fed up with the direction our country has gone.  I do not have any confusion as to why people started protesting on Wall Street in NYC and let me tell you why because there has been some obvious miscommunication about it.

First of all, I didn't quit my job, or leave work to go protest in NYC or Boston for that matter, I just listened up.  The average American also known as in social media "the 99%"  are completely fed up with the fact that Wall Street, Bank of America, and corporations do not pay the same taxes as the middle class.  I find it disgusting that the people who were responsible for three years ago (our economic downfall) pay less than what a teacher, a construction worker, or a nurse pays when it comes to taxes.

Secondly, in 2008, the Wall Street bankers were the criminals and were at the underbelly of our stockmarket crash.  It is vile that none of them, by any means, have been held accountable for those actions three years ago.  The fact that hardworking Americans trusted these assholes with their tax dollars is something I can't even seem to understand.  We bailed them out, and now we, the middle class, has to be bailed out.  With that being said, more than many of them  should be taken to court.

Lastly, lets talk financial policy.  The fact that Wall St. bankers, big business CEOs, and corporations have iron control over our financial policy is not what our country was based on. The fact that any of these cowards have a say in anything when it comes to Government is disgusting.  At the same time, I wonder why people in Washington decide to still work hand in hand with them and continue to let them take control of our way of living and financial way of being.

Oh, one last thing and that is police brutality.  The New York police lieutenant Anthony Bologna deserves to be out of work for his unnecessary actions of using his pepper spray on peaceful protesters.  The fact that at the scene of the protest, other New York policemen were sighted ON CAMERA pinning off protesters and then using force against them is disturbing.  The NYPD, then goes and has the nerve to back what LT. Bologna and the other policemen did, and that, I find mind blowing.  Protect and serve my ass.

“Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of leaders…and millions have been killed because of this obedience…Our problem is that people are obedient allover the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves… (and) the grand thieves are running the country. That’s our problem.”
